Today I was reminded of an incident that happened in my early sobriety.  I started in AA by attending a small weekly meeting at a church in Pacifica, California.  I really didn’t want to be there but went anyway.  I stood in the back,  angrily, and didn’t mingle. One of the Big Problems was the HIGHER POWER concept.  I was a doubting Thomas and had a hard time facing my distrust in religions,  particularly  Christianity. If there is a God, He had to prove it to me.

After several months, at the end of the meeting,  I was approached by a guy who came and explained that he didn’t know why but he was directed to give me $20 and that I would need it, and then just walked away.   I was puzzled but what the hell 20 is 20.  Surprisingly the next day I DID need the 20, it solved a problem that came up.

To make a long story short, this continued each week for 9 weeks.  One of the weeks he told me that he couldn’t sleep unless he gave me the money.  He said he had never done anything like this before and added belligerently “don’t get used to it as it was NOT go on forever”.   I asked him who was directing him and he said “don’t you realize that Jesus loves you”.  Needless to say I was shocked but puzzled.  At this time I had no job and was living out of my car, but tried to make sure no one knew it.  Every week this happened and I ALWAYS had a need for the money.

On the 10th week, I didn’t see him at the meeting, and as usual after the meeting we would all hang out in front of the church to chat.   As everyone cleared out, in came a car with a real drunk guy asking about the meeting.   I told him that it was over but come back next week.  I then asked him if he had eaten and he said he didn’t have any money left.  I reached in my pocked and gave him a $20 to get some gas and food and he drove away.  As I was getting in my car my benefactor walked around the corner and just waved, no money but a smile, in fact I never saw him again.  To this day I get chills when I think what happened.   I knew him as Darrel but now I know who he really was.

I am learning my lesson – giving out of gratitude, not for reward.  Giving and Receiving are the same.  If we are really all ONE in Christ then we can ONLY give to ourselves. If we put ANY restriction on giving it is NOT giving but merely a loan.  We can have no idea how much the simple act of giving freely to another will affect them – ONLY God know – Look, Listen, and Do Not Judge !

False Expectations Appearing Real 

In the story of Adam and Eve the original sin was eating of the fruit of the forbidden tree.  The serpent said to the woman,

“You will not surely die.    For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good an evil”.

Knowing the difference between good and evil but also being able to choose.  The power of JUDGMENT, technically, equality to God. 

The first judgement, to be SPECIAL, made the world of Illusion.   A world the opposite of ONENESS.    An ILLUSION, a DREAM of existence, where  bodies or CHARACTERS rule and the body’s senses offer it proof.  A place where the DREAMER believes He is also the CHARACTERS in the dream.   A world of opposites to ONENESS, where SAFETY lies in ATTACK,   ETERNITY bows to TIME, and LOVE is confused with FEAR. 

And the greatest fear,  God’s retribution or wrath for having wanted to be SPECIAL and usurping the Throne of God.

What a lead-in for today’s lesson  ACIM Lesson  #196  It can be but myself I crucify.

“The dreary, hopeless thought that you can make attacks on oth­ers and escape yourself has nailed you to the cross. Perhaps it seemed to be salvation. Yet it merely stood for the belief the fear of God is real. And what is that but hell? Who could believe his Father is his deadly enemy, separate from him, and waiting to destroy his life and blot him from the universe, without the fear of hell upon his heart?

Such is the form of madness you believe, if you accept the fearful thought you can attack another and be free yourself. Until this form is changed, there is no hope. Until you see that this, at least, must be entirely impossible, how could there be escape? The fear of God is real to anyone who thinks this thought is true. And he will not perceive its foolishness, or even see that it is there, so that it would be possible to question it.”

and the lesson continues:

“There is an instant in which terror seems to grip your mind so wholly that escape appears quite hopeless. When you realize, once and for all, that it is you you fear, the mind perceives itself as split. And this had been concealed while you believed attack could be directed outward, and returned from outside to within. It seemed to be an enemy outside you had to fear. And thus a god outside yourself became your mortal enemy; the source of fear.

Now, for an instant, is a murderer perceived within you, eager for your death, intent on plotting punishment for you until the time when it can kill at last. Yet in this instant is the time as well in which salvation comes. For fear of God has disappeared. And you can call on Him to save you from illusions by His Love, calling Him Father and yourself His Son. Pray that the instant may be soon,—today. Step back from fear, and make advance to love.”

Look, Listen, and Do Not Judge.      Realize judgement is a two-edged sword.  Leave Judgement up to the Holy Spirit.    Do not,  as the CHARACTER,  bind the dream but allow the DREAMER to choose with God’s Holy Spirit.

So Jesus told them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”     and     “if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well; and if someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.”       and       “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? “

Most times it’s very easy to see what to give to Caesar BUT what do I need to give to God?    Being ONE with God IS LIFE, separation is an error in JUDGMENT.  I have been blaming God and expecting His retribution for MY wanting to take His Throne.  Isn’t that what I have asked for – YET what I,  ( the DREAMER-CHRIST),   had asked for was the IMPOSSIBLE, and so I could only DREAM of a world of bodies where I would be the,(CHARACTERS),  King,   “Caesar”

I need to forgive God for not granting or ignoring MY need to be SPECIAL.  I also need to forgive MYSELF for turning my thoughts away from God and dreaming the impossible nightmare of Separation.  FORGIVENESS  is the KEY.    As stated in today’s ACIM Lesson  #194   I place the future in the Hands of God.

“And so each instant given unto God in passing, with the next one given Him already, is a time of your release from sadness, pain and even death itself.  God holds your future as He holds your past and present. They are one to Him, and so they should be one to you. Yet in this world, the temporal progression still seems real. And so you are not asked to understand the lack of sequence really found in time. You are but asked to let the future go, and place it in God’s Hands. And you will see by your experience that you have laid the past and present in His Hands as well, because the past will punish you no more, and future dread will now be meaningless.”

Here is the TRUE Peace of God in this world, serenity and salvation, Enlightenment and Awakening.   Look, Listen, and Do Not Judge.

Today’s Lesson ACIM #191 speaks directly to the Dreamer, to remember who He is and not to identify with  the character, in my case Frank,  in the dream.  “I am the Holy Son of God Himself.”.

“Here is your declaration of release from bondage of the world. And here as well is all the world released. You do not see what you have done by giving to the world the role of jailer to the Son of God. “

Believing that I am a character in the dream and accepting proof of this as the power to make judgements,  is the Separation – the Original Sin.   The tiny mad idea that sin is real and has real effects.

“Yet what is it except a game you play in which Identity can be denied? You are as God created you. All else but this one thing is folly to believe. In this one thought is everyone set free. In this one truth are all illusions gone. In this one fact is sinlessness proclaimed to be forever part of everything, the central core of its existence and its guarantee of immortality.”

Wow!!!   Jesus said he came,  as the Light to the world,  to see the truth and awaken from its sleep.  He also said “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”.

“You who perceive yourself as weak and frail, with futile hopes and devastated dreams, born but to die, to weep and suffer pain, hear this: All power is given unto you in earth and Heaven. There is nothing that you cannot do. You play the game of death, of being helpless, pitifully tied to dissolution in a world which shows no mercy to you. Yet when you accord it mercy, will its mercy shine on you.

Then let the Son of God awaken from his sleep, and opening his holy eyes, return again to bless the world he made. In error it began, but it will end in the reflection of his holiness. And he will sleep no more and dream of death. Then join with me today. Your glory is the light that saves the world. Do not withhold salvation longer. Look about the world, and see the suffering there. Is not your heart willing to bring your weary brothers rest?”

Jesus, The Christ, said He was the Alpha and the Omega.  If we are One with Christ then this applies to us too.

“They must await your own release. They stay in chains till you are free. They cannot see the mercy of the world until you find it in yourself. They suffer pain until you have denied its hold on you. They die till you accept your own eternal life. You are the holy Son of God Himself. Remember this, and all the world is free. Remember this, and earth and Heaven are one.”

ACIM Lesson 188 “The Peace of God is shinning in me now” – this is a powerful lesson.  It is a lesson for BOTH the Dreamer and the Characters in the dream.

“The shining in your mind reminds the world of what it has forgotten, and the world restores the memory to you as well. From you salvation radiates with gifts beyond all measure, given and returned. To you, the giver of the gift, does God Himself give thanks. And in His blessing does the light in you shine brighter, adding to the gifts you have to offer to the world.”

To realize that I am BOTH the dreamer and the character is profound –  realizing that “I”, the Dreamer, ‘am as God Created Me – in the Image and Likeness of God’,  can extend my peace around the characters in the dream, changing the dream to one of peace and not attack.  But at the same time “I” as the character can extend what has been given me,  to all the world – since I now possess it. And what is the Peace of God ? , but FORGIVENNESS, ACCEPTANCE, LOVE ITSELF.

“The peace of God can never be contained. Who recognizes it within himself must give it. And the means for giving it are in his understanding. He forgives because he recognized the truth in him. The peace of God is shining in you now, and in all living things. In quietness is it acknowledged universally. For what your inward vision looks upon is your perception of the universe.

Sit quietly and close your eyes. The light within you is sufficient. It alone has power to give the gift of sight to you. Exclude the outer world, and let your thoughts fly to the peace within. They know the way. For honest thoughts, untainted by the dream of worldly things outside yourself, become the holy messengers of God Himself.”

The recognition of the Christ Mind within is the Atonement Itself.  The innocence  of Christ is acknowledged and allowed to bless the dream of separation and restore it to ONENESS.

“Thus are our minds restored with them, and we acknowledge that the peace of God still shines in us, and from us to all living things that share our life. We will forgive them all, absolving all the world from what we thought it did to us. For it is we who make the world as we would have it. Now we choose that it be innocent, devoid of sin and open to salvation. And we lay our saving blessing on it, as we say:

The peace of God is shining in me now.
Let all things shine upon me in that peace,
And let me bless them with the light in me.”

Great song title – but it is also a valid question?  

Christianity tells you that you need only accept Jesus into your heart and be saved — This is absolutely true BUT to do so you must also  BELEIVE and FOLLOW what he says.  for instance:

1. “My Kingdom is NOT of this world.”
2. “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.”
3. “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”
4. “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, give to God what is God’s.”
5. “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”
6. “When you make the two into one, you will become sons of man. And when you say ‘Mountain, move away,’ it will move away.”
7. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

And again as Jesus’s prayed for us:

“I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.”

Illusions CANNOT be brought to TRUTH. Illusions CANNOT be changed into TRUTH, for even though they can  change,  they still remains illusions.  The best, the illusion of separation can be changed, is into a HAPPY dream.  The idea of separation can merely be lessen by bringing it closer to being ONE.   The world has given names or symbols to everything here.  ACIM Lesson 184 explains:

“What are these names by which the world becomes a series of discrete events, of things ununified, of bodies kept apart and holding bits of mind as separate awarenesses? You gave these names to them, establishing perception as you wished to have perception be. The nameless things were given names, and thus reality was given them as well. For what is named is given meaning and will then be seen as meaningful; a cause of true effect, with consequence inherent in itself.”

And later in the lesson :

“It would indeed be strange if you were asked to go beyond all symbols of the world, forgetting them forever; yet were asked to take a teaching function. You have need to use the symbols of the world a while. But be you not deceived by them as well. They do not stand for anything at all, and in your practicing it is this thought that will release you from them. They become but means by which you can communicate in ways the world can understand, but which you recognize is not the unity where true communication can be found.

Thus what you need are intervals each day in which the learning of the world becomes a transitory phase; a prison house from which you go into the sunlight and forget the darkness. Here you understand the Word, the Name which God has given you; the one Identity which all things share; the one acknowledgment of what is true. And then step back to darkness, not because you think it real, but only to proclaim its unreality in terms which still have meaning in the world that darkness rules.

Use all the little names and symbols which delineate the world of darkness. Yet accept them not as your reality. The Holy Spirit uses all of them, but He does not forget creation has one Name, one meaning, and a single Source which unifies all things within Itself. Use all the names the world bestows on them but for convenience, yet do not forget they share the Name of God along with you.”

Is the Dreamer and the Characters of the Dream – separate, with different names ????

What does it mean – To Be One ?      This question has been stated and pondered by many theologist.  It’s said over and over again in ACIM.  God is One, Christ is One with God, We are One with Christ !!!!   What does this MEAN to ME.

If I am One with Christ,  Spiritually (Jesus was the human symbol) – then You must also be One with Christ. Or Christ expresses the ONENESS of GOD.  The Christ’s Mind is One and the LIE or ERROR that we are separate , in a material world,  is the illusion that individuals  exist, BUT in God’s Realty only ONE MIND EXISTS.     Having just read Lesson 182 – ACIM  “I will be still an instant and go home.”, I was struck by the vision this excerpt shows me.

“This world you seem to live in is not home to you. And some­where in your mind you know that this is true. A memory of home keeps haunting you, as if there were a place that called you to return, although you do not recognize the voice, nor what it is the voice reminds you of. Yet still you feel an alien here, from somewhere all unknown. Nothing so definite that you could say with certainty you are an exile here. Just a persistent feeling, sometimes not more than a tiny throb, at other times hardly re­membered, actively dismissed, but surely to return to mind again.

No one but knows whereof we speak. Yet some try to put by their suffering in games they play to occupy their time, and keep their sadness from them. Others will deny that they are sad, and do not recognize their tears at all. Still others will maintain that what we speak of is illusion, not to be considered more than but a dream. Yet who, in simple honesty, without defensiveness and self-deception, would deny he understands the words we speak?

We speak today for everyone who walks this world, for he is not at home. He goes uncertainly about in endless search, seek­ing in darkness what he cannot find; not recognizing what it is he seeks. A thousand homes he makes, yet none contents his restless mind. He does not understand he builds in vain. The home he seeks can not be made by him. There is no substitute for Heaven. All he ever made was hell.”

Each version of hell that each body represents needs to be brought to Light and seen for what it is – An Illusion – and let go.  The Abstract Idea of Oneness (God, Christ) is the total healing or Atonement of the  ‘What If’s’  that He made or Imagined.      ONE, inseparable, imagining Many possibilities.    Healing – Going Home – the Awakening from a spiritual nightmare!

Today’s opening selection is  found in ACIM  Section 3, Chapter  10 – The Idols of Sickness  pg. 184.

“What Comforter can there be for the sick children of God except His power through YOU? Remember that it does not matter where in the Sonship He is accepted. He is ALWAYS accepted for all, and when your mind receives Him, the remembrance of Him awakens throughout the Sonship.

Heal your brothers simply by accepting God FOR them. Your minds are not separate, and God has only one channel for healing, because He has but one Son. His remaining communication link with all His Children joins them together, and them to Him. To be aware of this is to heal them, because it is the awareness that no one is separate, and so no one is sick. To believe that a Son of God can be sick is to believe that PART OF GOD CAN SUFFER.”

Everything is a constant reminder to “Look, Listen and Do Not Judge” or as stated elsewhere  “I need do Nothing” —- Just accept Reality as it is and allow Christ to lead the way out, through the maze of Illusions.   The whole dream is a lie and NOTHING here is real – accepting this IS Healing.  Do not place judgement upon the dream and make it real.  Do not bow down to false idols.  “Turn it over to a Higher Power”.  

It is ONLY Self acceptance that heals – BUT  trying to  preach this to the ‘world’ is merely  worshipping the idol of separation, by first making it real.

To begin many of my meditations I usually start by using the “Course” as my Oracle, randomly opening the book and using the text on that page to contemplate..  Today I opened to    ACIM Text chapter 13  – The Guiltless World,   Section 7  – The Attainment of the Real World   ppg.257

“Whenever you are tempted to undertake a foolish journey that would lead AWAY from light, remember what you REALLY want, and say,
 

“The Holy Spirit leads me unto Christ, and where else would I go? What need have I but to awake in Him?”

Then follow Him in joy, with faith that He will lead you safely through all the dangers to your peace of mind that this world sets before you. Kneel not before the altars to sacrifice, and seek not what you will surely lose. Content yourselves with what you will as surely KEEP, and be not restless, for you undertake a quiet journey to the peace of God, where He would have you be in quietness

In me, you have ALREADY overcome EVERY temptation that would hold you back. We walk together on the way to quietness that is the gift of God. Hold me dear, for what EXCEPT your brothers CAN you need? We will restore to you the peace of mind that we MUST find together. The Holy Spirit will teach you to awaken unto us, and to yourself. THIS is the only REAL need to be fulfilled in time. Salvation FROM the world lies ONLY here. My peace I GIVE you. TAKE it of me, in glad exchange for all the world has offered but to TAKE AWAY. And we will spread it, like a veil of light, across the world’s sad face, in which we hide our brothers FROM the world, and it from them.

We cannot sing redemption’s hymn alone. My task is not completed ’til I have lifted every voice with mine. And yet it is NOT mine, for as it is my gift to you, so was it the Father’s gift to me, given me through His Spirit.”

What wonderful advice and direction in today’s troubled world plagued with Virus, Riots, Lockdown , Business and Income uncertainty – just to name a few altars to sacrifice.

WOW !!!    What a relatable story.  ACIM Lesson 166  and  The Parable of the Prodigal Son.   Am I the living proof ?   Are you?

“4. Here is the only home he thinks he knows. Here is the only safety he believes that he can find. Without the world he made is he an outcast; homeless and afraid. He does not realize that it is here he is afraid indeed, and homeless, too; an outcast wander­ing so far from home, so long away, he does not realize he has forgotten where he came from, where he goes, and even who he really is.

Yet in his lonely, senseless wanderings, God’s gifts go with him, all unknown to him. He cannot lose them. But he will not look at what is given him. He wanders on, aware of the futility he sees about him everywhere, perceiving how his little lot but dwindles, as he goes ahead to nowhere. Still he wanders on in misery and poverty, alone though God is with him, and a treas­ure his so great that everything the world contains is valueless before its magnitude.

He seems a sorry figure; weary, worn, in threadbare clothing, and with feet that bleed a little from the rocky road he walks. No one but has identified with him, for everyone who comes here has pursued the path he follows, and has felt defeat and hopelessness as he is feeling them. Yet is he really tragic, when you see that he is following the way he chose, and need but realize Who walks with him and open up his treasures to be free?

This is your chosen self, the one you made as a replacement for reality. This is the self you savagely defend against all reason, every evidence, and all the witnesses with proof to show this is not you. You heed them not. You go on your appointed way, with eyes cast down lest you might catch a glimpse of truth, and be released from self-deception and set free. “  ( ACIM Lesson 166)

And the Parable of the Prodigal Son:    Luke 15:11     Where the young son said to the Father ‘give me my share of the estate.’ and then set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living.  And upon realizing his errors and wanting to come back, 

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

“But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.”

SO therefore   Lesson 166 ends:   !!!!!!

“Become the living proof of what Christ’s touch can offer everyone. God has entrusted all His gifts to you. Be witness in your happiness to how transformed the mind becomes which chooses to accept His gifts, and feel the touch of Christ. Such is your mission now. For God entrusts the giving of His gifts to all who have received them. He has shared His joy with you. And now you go to share it with the world.”

‘Christ forgives- we un-bind’   I am so thankful this thought is presented to me over and over again.   As Jesus said “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?”   I am reminded again in ACIM Lesson 164:

“We will not judge today. We will receive but what is given us from Judgment made beyond the world. Our practicing today becomes our gift of thankfulness for our release from blindness and from misery. All that we see will but increase our joy, because its holiness reflects our own. We stand forgiven in the sight of Christ, with all the world forgiven in our own. We bless the world as we behold it in the light in which our Savior looks on us, and offer it the freedom given us through His forgiving vision, now our own”      

CHRIST FORGIVES, I need but UN-BIND my judgements and fears, I have placed on this illusionary world, that are making it appear real to me.  Look on what God created without judgement and see the Truth.  God’s Son is sinless.   Death is witness to illusion, forgiveness sees LIFE.

I need always remember what Jesus said  “My kingdom is not of this world.”  And MY kingdom is NOT of my petti judgements and self-slanted view of what God Created as LIGHT, ETERNAL, TRUTH and LOVE.

Christ is the DREAMER, let Him change the dream – WE are but the characters in a dream of death – un-bind the dream and let it be changed through Christ’s VISION.

Today’s  ACIM lesson # 159   contains the message I so desired to hear.  It paints, so beautifully, the picture of forgiveness. It embraces both worlds.   The definition of “Christ’s Vision”.    Look, Listen, and Do Not Judge.

“Christ’s vision is the holy ground in which the lilies of forgiveness set their roots. This is their home. They can be brought from here back to the world, but they can never grow in its unnourishing and shallow soil. They need the light and warmth and kindly care Christ’s charity provides. They need the love with which He looks on them. And they become His messengers which give as they received.

Take from His storehouse, that its treasures may increase. His lilies do not leave their home when they are carried back into the world. Their roots remain. They do not leave their source, but carry its beneficence with them, and turn the world into a garden like the one they came from, and to which they go again with added fragrance. Now are they twice blessed. The messages they brought from Christ have been delivered and returned to them. And they return them gladly unto Him.

Behold the store of miracles set out for you to give. Are you not worth the gift, when God appointed it be given you?  Judge not God’s Son, but follow in the way He has established. Christ has dreamed the dream of a forgiven world. It is His gift whereby a sweet transition can be made from death to life, from hopelessness to hope. Let us an instant dream with Him. His dream awakens us to truth. His vision gives the means for a return to our unlost and everlasting sanctity in God. “

Now that the Virus Pandemic is slowing down – Eugene sent me a strong text msg today.     “Be careful, it’s more dangerous now than when it all started. People are less scared and more eager to go out.  They’ve let their guard  down”   So TRUE and important to remember.

Pray to God, Holy Spirit for Understanding!!!  MY part in the illusion is to be honest and search out what grievances and judgments am I still holding  and unwilling to let go.   The TRUTH or Reality can only shine away the darkness if I bring them to the surface to be examined and released.  What I refuse to let go will bind me to the Illusion.   Look, Listen and Do Not Judge.  I need do nothing, but STOP what I have been doing to make the illusion seem true to me.

But, while I am bound to illusion, hygiene is the answer to a safe and happy dream.  A mask will be the symbol I can use to show LOVE and RESPECT to others, likewise with hand washing.  I may not escape the dream but I need not be a victim to it.  I can turn the illusion into one where I search for requests for Love or for Love itself – either way answering only with Love.  As close to Heaven as can be obtained in this Illusion while I discard all bound judgement for  a full return to Reality or God Himself.   What better use of my time here ?.

Here is a Jewish Rabbi’s perspective on the Adam and Eve story.     After all it’s their story but the other religions have twisted it into their theology – which one is correct ?   Consider it and reflect on the illusion of judgement and the world of bodies as explained in ACIM – a much better interpretation of what happened – Isn’t it so..

Trying to bring God into the illusion won’t work but bringing the Illusion to God will allow the Holy Spirt to show you the answer.

“Against the ego’s insane notion of salvation, the Holy Spirit gently lays the holy instant. We said before that the Holy Spirit must teach through comparisons, and uses opposites to point to truth. The holy instant is the OPPOSITE of the ego’s fixed belief in salvation through vengeance for the past. In the holy instant, it is ACCEPTED that the past is gone, and WITH its passing, the drive for vengeance HAS BEEN uprooted, and has disappeared. The stillness and the peace of NOW, enfold you in perfect gentleness. Everything is gone, EXCEPT THE TRUTH.

For a time, you may attempt to bring illusions INTO the holy instant, to hinder your full awareness of the COMPLETE DIFFERENCE, in ALL respects, between your EXPERIENCE of truth and illusion. But you will not attempt this long. In the holy instant, the power of the Holy Spirit WILL prevail, BECAUSE YOU JOINED HIM. The illusions you bring with you, will weaken the EXPERIENCE of Him for a while, and will prevent you from KEEPING the experience in your mind. Yet the holy instant IS eternal, and your illusions of time will NOT prevent the timeless from being what it is, nor you from EXPERIENCING it as it is.”   (ACIM T16H6)

Remembering this during my day will allow the real world to appear where chaos and fear reigned before – God Bless
