Bristle Brushes

Sawadee Khrap

Started using the “Bristle brushes” in Photoshop for my paintings.  Much better control and effect.  This is a scene I saw on a recent trip a few weeks ago to “The Giant”  treehouse restaurant in Doi Saket, north of Chiang Mai.  A small coffee shop on the way had this display in their parking lot – just had to paint it.  Digital Acrylic Oil painting —  15 inch x 10 inch.Garden-Bike-web

P.S.   Went back with other friends yesterday and had car trouble, my 4 wheel drive unit locked up and I had to be towed back to the repair shop – still without a car so I had time to finished this painting I was working on – funny it was a scene from my last visit there – maybe a omen.

Getting back to painting

Sawadee Khrap

New computer running, I started back painting.  My first task was to finish a painting of a “Smiling Buddha”.  I think I saw it somewhere near Sukhothai but not sure.  I did use the new plug-in AD-Impasto which gives me the ability to present an impasto simulation effect to the paint – mild but very noticeable at full size  – this painting is at high printing resolution 300 dpi, 10 in x 15 in –Digital Acrylic Oil paint.Buddha-web

Celestial Dreaming

Sawadee Khrap

My latest painting – Celestial Dreaming – a 20×30 inch.  Acrylic on Pastel Chalk Digital painting.Clestrial-Dreaming-web   I need to do another with a better background – the chalk just doesn’t do it justice……  I wanted the floating effect but need more dreamy appearance.  But at least it’s a start in the right direction.  What are your thoughts.

Life Portrait

Sawadee Khrap

In the beginning there was darkness and God said “Let there be light”ACIM-A3-webLarge

This is my model of this world – An illusion, born from an insane thought that something other than God can be of value.   That thought, made real by incomplete judgment and a desire to be special, only in illusion and perception born. I still have a lot of work to do on it – better graphics and  detail – but  it’s a start ——-

You can read the whole Theology “The Gospel According to Frank” as posted here:

ACIM  Chapter 20, Section 6  The Temple of the Holy Spirit –  The meaning of the Son of God lies solely in his relationship with his Creator. If it were elsewhere it would rest on contingency, but there is nothing else. And this is wholly loving and forever. Yet has the Son of God invented an unholy relationship between him and his Father. His real relationship is one of perfect union and unbroken continuity. The one he made is partial, self-centered, broken into fragments and full of fear. The one created by his Father is wholly Self-encompassing and Self-extending. The one he made is wholly self-destructive and self-limiting.

Many try to remove Jesus from the “Course” saying it doesn’t really matter who or what you call GOD.  But to accept the Course is to accept it all and I offer the following to show the relevance of Jesus and his words. ACIM-A3-Jesus-webLargeReligion is another matter.

Lets Swim

Sawadee Khrap

My car is in the shop and I am relativity stranded in my condo, thinking about the last time I was at Sai Kaew beach in Sattahip.  Went there with a friend and he wanted to race me to the water – this image comes to mind.   So here is a 20 by 30 inch acrylic oil painting, or at least what I remembered it was like.  I know I’ll miss going there.lets-swim-web

Defender of White Temple

Sawadee Khrap

Never miss seeing the “Wat Rong Khun – The White Temple” when you visit the Chiang Rai area.  Located 15 KM before you arrive at Chiang Rai City itself.  Impressive, privately designed and re-built by Khun Kositpipat.  WhiteTempleStatue-web  The temple is magnificent, glowing white – quite a sight to see – and this is one of the creatures guarding the “gate of heaven” at the entrance.   Not sure if this is Death or Rahu.    Something new every time you visit the project.  It is constantly being expanded by new works , stated to be fully completed in 2070.   A 20 by 30 inch canvas acrylic oil type painting.

Beached boat–Sattahip

Sawadee Khrap

You can find many such images as you tour the beaches of Sattahip, Thailand – South of Pattaya along the coast.   many beaches and tranquil places to stop.  I just loved this old boat beached there.beached-boat-web  This is my normal painting size of 20 by 30 inch canvas. And when you are down there be sure and stop at Sai Kaew Beach on the military reserve.  You can see photos I’ve taken there in many past blog posts.

Spanish Watercolor Scene

Sawadee Khrap

Here is a 20 by 30 in Digital Watercolor painting using Photoshop.  SpanishWatercolor-webSimulating a watercolor version of a pencil drawn scene.  The border is for mounting purposes and would be on the sides of the mounting.  I am going to try some variations on this theme to break the oil paintings I have been doing.  What do you think?
