I just went to my first meeting of “NVC” at Sangdee Gallery on Soi 5. Great meeting and boy am I starting to learn and find that I really need the process in my daily life. Here’s a great poem from the start of a book on the subject “The language of Life”
Words are Windows (or They’re Walls)
I feel so sentenced by your words,
I feel so judged and sent away,
Before I go I’ve got to know
Is that what you mean to say?
Before I rise to my defense,
Before I speak in hurt or fear,
Before I build that wall of words,
Tell me, did I really hear?
Words are windows, or they’re walls,
They sentence us, or set us free.
When I speak and when I hear,
Let the love light shine through me.
There are things I need to say,
Things that mean so much to me,
If my words don’t make me clear,
Will you help me to be free?
If I seemed to put you down,
If you felt I didn’t care,
Try to listen through my words
To the feelings that we share.
I am so grateful to have been introduced into this Tuesday afternoon meeting at the Sangdee Gallery and have a chance to develop my communication skills – When the student is ready the Teacher will arrive – now to stay alert and learn.
Thanks Mark for this fashion update – you are so right – one’s eye immediately goes to select the perfect purse – I particularly like the over the shoulder style but all are very nice. Enjoy your trip to the States and be safe and fashionable. Click on the image for the show.
If your studying ACIM – this song tells it all – Stardust into Men by Ocean Deep – Rhonda Bellamy otherwise its just a great emotional and relaxing song – check it out.
Here one I found that I really like. so true, but sad. it’s usually not possible to re-hang any picture – the shadows on the wall will almost always show through and detract from the original. Great observation.
Be sure and check out and bookmark the new “Gay in Chiang Mai Guide”

The law allows for a 5 year prison term and a fine of up to 100,000 baht for those convicted of obscenity. What has to social media – political hate – false stories – and now troublesome public behavior.
Thanks Jerry for this insight into the original “Birth of the Internet”.
In ancient Israel, it came to pass that a trader by the name of Abraham Com did take unto himself a healthy young wife by the name of Dorothy. And Dot Com was a comely woman, large of breast, broad of shoulder and long of leg. Indeed, she was often called Amazon Dot Com.
And she said unto Abraham, her husband, “Why dost thou travel so far from town to town with thy goods when thou canst trade without ever leaving thy tent?” And Abraham did look at her as though she were several saddle bags short of a camel load, but simply said, “How, dear?” And Dot replied, “I will place drums in all the towns and drums in between to send messages saying what you have for sale, and they will reply telling you who hath the best price. The sale can be made on the drums and delivery made by Uriah’s Pony Stable (UPS).”
Abraham thought long and decided he would let Dot have her way with the drums. And the drums rang out and were an immediate success. Abraham sold all the goods he had at the top price, without ever having to move from his tent. To prevent neighboring countries from overhearing what the drums were saying, Dot devised a system that only she and the drummers knew. It was known as Must Send Drum Over Sound (MSDOS), and she also developed a language to transmit ideas and pictures – Hebrew to the People (HTTP).
And the young men did take to Dot Com’s trading as doth the greedy horsefly take to camel dung. They were called Nomadic Ecclesiastical Rich Dominican Sybarites, or NERDS. And lo, the land was so feverish with joy at the new riches and the deafening sound of drums that no one noticed that the real riches were going to that enterprising drum dealer, Brother William of Gates, who bought off every drum maker in the land. Indeed he did insist on drums to be made that would work only with Brother Gates’ drum heads and drumsticks.
And Dot did say, “Oh, Abraham, what we have started is being taken over by others.” And Abraham looked out over the Bay of Ezekiel, or eBay as it came to be known. He said, “We need a name that reflects what we are.” And Dot replied, “Young Ambitious Hebrew Owner Operators.” “YAHOO,” said Abraham. And because it was Dot’s idea, they named it YAHOO Dot Com.
Abraham’s cousin, Joshua, being the young Gregarious Energetic Educated Kid (GEEK) that he was, soon started using Dot’s drums to locate things around the countryside. It soon became known as God’s Own Official Guide to Locating Everything (GOOGLE).

Just got back from visiting the CityLife Garden Fair at JJ Markets this morning. Kevin, Mike and myself went together and had a great time and good food. There was a very large attendance and some great booths there – food , artist, clothing, hand made items, including some hand made pop-up birthday and occasion cards. I bought several. And you know me I am always on the alert for photogenic guys. For me the highlight of the day was meeting “Latte” (hope I spelling right).
Here is a excellent example of why to shoot in RAW mode. On the recent trip to Doi Angkhang, I had my camera set to shoot 42MB JPGs instead of RAW files. Most of the photos are OK and Lightroom made sufficient modifications where necessary to make good images. However this panorama at Chiang Dao shows what can go wrong. The sky above is really blown out and cannot be restored. Had I shot in RAW, each image could have been corrected using the full gamut of exposure to capture the full dynamics of the scene.
I now have my basic settings so the camera is always set on RAW and now custom settings 2 is set to allow (fine 42 MP) JPG’s. This way I won’t have to remember to switch it unless I think I am running low on memory and need to shoot JPG for the smaller size. Should have done this in the first place like I had always set my Canon. The above shot would have been nice if I had set the camera right. Pity.
This is another landscape shot as JPG but it did allow some modification.
Here are several images processed strictly in Lightroom.
I am always amazed how far you can go in developing your images in Lightroom. It is truly a great tool for any photographer.
Wish I could find some young models again but the Internet has spoiled that with the instant “selfie” in that its easy to get images now and they have no need for so called professional photos. – I’ll keep looking because I know you guys want some more eye candy to gaze at – I’d like it too.
