A little thunderstorm in Pattaya

Sawadee Khrap

_MG_2890-EditOn the 14th we had a little thunderstorm, quite spectacular actually, I tried to catch the fury but most of the images were completely over-exposed because the lightning was so close that the radiant light was just too strong and over-powered the camera.  I did manage a couple of good images at the tail end of the storm when it was well over Chonburi to the north.  That’s about 30 Km away.   This is a composite of those images.

  1. Magnificent compilation of shots. I’ve caught lightning on video, but have yet to catch acceptable images in a still shot. Nicely done!

Thanks – it took almost 800 shots to capture 34 acceptable lightning images – then 4 of those were used to produce the composite. Using “auto-align” to set the buildings and place the strikes correctly. Glad you like it.

  2. Wonderful lightning strike shots! I’ve caught it on video, but haven’t tried a long enough exposure (or multiples) to get a still like this. Well done!
