Max & Nookie’s leaving party

Sawadee Khrap

Tuesday night we went to Max and Nookie’s going back home to Germany party.  Max had reserved a table at the ‘Spirit House’ and many of his friends came for a farewell dinner.  Max took some shots and sent them to me so I thought I’d post them here:  I’ll leave the names out but I am sure you will be seeing more of these boys in the up and coming events around Chiang Mai in the future.  SUBMIT A COMMENT if you would like more information.

Max and Nookie are due back to Chiang Mai in Oct, but I will look forward to seeing and posting many of his photos from Berlin and around Germany – keep them coming Max and have a safe trip   ******

Here’s some party shots:

P.S.  They have remodeled the front of the ‘Spirit House’ and it looks great – I know they spent a lot of time getting it done – maybe this explains why the food was not up to the restaurant’s usual quality – and they also added a misting device to act as air-conditioning – too strong, several quests, including Nu and I, made comments that after dinner we had to go have a shower – too much water (mist) in both food, clothes and atmosphere.  — hopefully better next time.

Accident – then Golf

Sawadee Khrap

Quite a day,

Nu left for school and on the way had a motorcycle accident.  He was traveling one of the back-roads going to the YMCA for English classes and collided with Aphinan Nilthong’s truck which turned in front of him from a side road – they didn’t see each other until it was too late. Khun Nilthong took Nu to the hospital and I meet them there.  No broken bones and the bike appears OK.  Nu is limping but is otherwise OK.

Khun Nilthong, it turns out is a PGA Pro Golf Instructor at Genius Golf Academy.  He took great pains and time to make sure Nu was OK and stayed with us for most of the morning at the hospital.  Thanks

NilthongGeniusGolfIf you are looking for any golfing training then I would suggest that you check with Khun Nilthong.

If his devotion to your learning golf is anything like his attention to helping Nu then you would be in very good hands.  I’d show more posts on golf but it is not my cup of tea, but Chiang Mai has some great Courses.

Spiders

Here’s one from Jerry:

Poke and prod the spider with your mouse , also ‘grab’ one of its legs with your mouse and drag it around the screen–

Tell me it’s not alive!

When you grab one of his legs, twirl him around a couple of times and then “fling” him off the page.  Watch and he’ll crawl back onto the page somewhere. Also anywhere on the map hit the space bar and it leaves little bugs, watch the spider go after it, this is totally crazy and creepy too! Do several in a row and he gets them all!

Fly the Friendly Skys

Sawadee Khrap

First a little humor:

My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks. As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and told us that ‘Captain Marvel has asked me to announce that he’ll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super.’

On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed this well-dressed and rather Arabic looking woman hadn’t moved a muscle. ‘Perhaps you didn’t hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground.’

She calmly turned her head and said, ‘In my country, I am called a Princess and I take orders from no one.’

To which (I swear) the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat,

‘Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country I’m called a Queen, so I out rank you. Tray-up, Bitch.

Bussiness lesson #1

Sawadee Khrap

Always check the fine print

Johnny wanted to screw a guy in his office…..but he belonged to someone else…

One day Johnny got so frustrated that he went up to him and said I’ll give you a $1000 dollars if you let me screw you….but the guy said NO.

Johnny said I’ll be fast, I’ll throw the money on the floor, you bend down, I’ll be finished by the time you pick it up. He thought for a moment and said that he would have to consult his boyfriend…..so he called his boyfriend and told him the story. His boyfriend says to ask him for $2000 dollars, pick up the money very fast, he won’t even be able to get his pants down.

So he agrees and accepts the proposal. Half an hour goes by and the boyfriend is waiting for his boyfriend to call. Finally after 45 mins the boyfriend calls and asks what happened……

He said “The bastard used coins”

Management lesson: Always consider a business proposal in it’s entirety before agreeing to it and getting screwed.

Getting Old

Sawadee Khrap

Getting Old

There was a man who really took care of his body.  One day he took a look in the mirror and noticed that he was tan all over except for his penis.  So he decided to do something about it.  He went to the beach and got completely undressed and buried himself in the sand except for his penis, which he left sticking out.

Two old ladies were strolling along the beach, one using a cane.  Upon seeing the thing sticking up out of the sand, she began to move it around with her cane, remarking to the other lady, “There is no justice in this world.” The other lady asked what she meant.

“Well, when I was 20, I was curious about it.
  When I was 30, I enjoyed it.
When I was 40, I asked for it.
When I was 50, I paid for it.
When I was 60 I prayed for it.
When I was 70, I forgot all about it.
Now I’m 80 and the damn things are growing wild and I am do old to squat!”

Doi Saket-Chiang Mai Ladyboy Contest

Sawadee Khrap

Contest-Ladyboy1Here is a great link to the photos of the winners of the “Doi Saket – Chaing Mai Ladyboy Contest”  held April 3rd 2009.

If your interested in LadyBoy Contests then the above link is a great site to follow – too bad it’s only in Thai – but then again we are only looking at the pictures  .

We didn’t get a chance to go but we did attend the latest contest April 5th at Chiang Mai and I will post some shots of the girls there soon.  Also took some video so maybe I can put up a simple video too.

P.S.  I will have to buy some ear plugs because as usual in Thailand the music was so loud it could be heard for at least 5 blocks – next to the stage you could feel the vibrations in the air – my ears are still ringing.

ADVICE FROM MEDICARE – New Joke Posts

Sawasdee Khrap

One of our friends heads up a Chiang Mai Dinning Out Group and sends out a weekily newsletter and “weekly Funnies” – some I think are really good and so I will post them throughout the blog – hope you enjoy too.

Lets kick it off with:

ADVICE FROM MEDICARE

The phone rings and the lady of the house answers. ‘Mrs. Sanders, please.’  ‘Speaking.’

‘Mrs. Sanders, this is Dr. Jones at Saint Agnes Laboratory.
When your husband’s doctor sent his biopsy to our lab last week, a biopsy from another Mr. Sanders arrived  as well. We are uncertain which one belongs to your husband. Frankly, either way the results are not too good.’

‘What do you mean?’ Mrs. Sanders asks nervously.

‘Well, one of the specimens tested positive for Alzheimer’s and the
other one tested positive for HIV. We can’t tell which is which.’

‘That’s dreadful! Can you do the test again?’ questioned Mrs. Sanders.

‘Normally we can, but Medicare will only pay one time for these tests.’

‘Well, what am I supposed to do now?’

‘The folks at Medicare recommend that you drop your husband off  somewhere in the middle of town. If he finds his way home, don’t sleep with him.’

We are adopting – how you can help

Sawadee Khrap

I just received this letter from my sister in California.  Her daughter, Jessica and Jess’s partner Stephanie are planning on adopting a child and they are seeking a special person (Birthmother) somewhere in the U.S. for help.

This blog is presently getting over 300 visitors a day and hopefully one of them, or someone they may know, is looking to make an adoption plan.  Please read the letter below and if you, or someone you know, can help please contact Stephanie & Jessica directly by email or through the web-sites shown in the letter.

Dear Family & Friends,

As many of you know, we are hoping to start a family through adoption, specifically open adoption. Open adoption is an adoption process in which birthparents and adoptive parents select each other, and although the adoptive parents are solely the parents of the child, the birthparents remain a part of the child’s life in some capacity. We believe that it is healthy for an adopted child to know who their birthparents are, where they came from, why they look like they do, and other important issues that can come up for the adopted child. Plus, you can never have too many people that love your child.  We are thrilled about adopting and hope to make a connection soon with a young woman or couple who are considering a loving family for the baby they are bringing into the world.

We are working with a nationwide adoption agency (www.adoptionhelp.org) specializing in open adoptions, and we are currently in the “waiting” phase. We have been approved to be adoptive parents, and we have created a web site and a ‘Dear Birthmother’ letter that we hope will entice a potential birthmother to choose us over the thousands of other people in our situation. And although most of the birthmothers find prospective parents for their baby through the adoption agency, about 10% of all adoptions come about from networking with family, friends, acquaintances, and even complete strangers…and that is why we are asking you for help. We realize that it is unlikely that you know of anyone who is in the difficult place of having to consider giving her child up for adoption, but you never know. You might be surprised, you just might know a friend of a friend of a friend that is looking to make an adoption plan. So, we would be so grateful if you could keep an eye out for us, or pass along this email if you know of someone that could help us.

To see our adoption web site, please go to www.foxparker.com.

If you would like to speak directly to our representative at the adoption agency, please call toll-free at 1-800-877-6736 and ask for one of the intake counselors who will answer any and all of your questions.

Thank you in advance for helping us to grow our family. We have so much love to give, and we cannot wait to have that chance to be parents. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Steph & Jess

All my prayers and hope go with Jessica and Stephanie – I knew them before they formed their partnership and attended their marriage.  What a wonderful couple and I know there is a child out there or will be out there that would be a blessing into their extended family.

Thanks for any support you can offer.
