The “Venue” is a real landmark for Jomtien Complex – This was last night (Sunday) and time for the start of a new different show for the coming week. 

First, we were treated to 2 singers – and they were great – headliner Mr.Paul (photo #2) – Classic Italian songs, excellent.  Then the main show – I meet Mr. Ball (last photo) and will be sure to return and get better shots in the future – I am hoping that Khun Ball will get me in the wings to get some shots behind the scenes.

Friday 11th was Loy Krathong and the big evening parade.  I went with Mohamed, Pea and managed to get some good shots.  As usual I didn’t stay for the whole parade, it was slow coming and I only stayed for the first half or so – my back was really starting to hurt from all the standing.  Anyway here are some examples and be sure and check out the

Last week at Wat Pa Pao they held a concert to raise money for the BKK flood relief.  I stopped by for a little while to get some quick photos.  Met Wit and a couple of his friends there and we had a bit to eat before the show started. 

It is very refreshing to see the guys putting on makeup and lipstick to get ready to go to the show.  It is normal for Shan boys to wear lipstick and power at any of these events.

My friend “Wing” invited me to the AIM Star Network Chiang Mai Regional Expo 2011.  He was there with others in his group to receive awards and showcase their products.  Great Show.

Just passing through the Kad Suan Kaew Central Shopping Center and caught the last part of the “Miss Healthy Thailand 2011” Ladyboy Beauty Contest.  I did manage to get shots of all for the 32 “girls” in the lineup, but could not stay to see the final voting results.  I’ll post who the winners were later.  This event is sponsored by M+ and is one of the many lead-ups to the Pattaya Miss Tiffany Title.  It’s hard to believe that there aren’t any ‘girl-girls’ in the lineup – nor backstage for that matter.

Today was the last day of the 3 day Shan festival “Poi Sang Long”  at Wat Ku Tao. This festival is for the young boys to enter the Monkhood – boys 7-14 ,dressed in their finest attire, are carried 3 times around the temple and take the robes of novice monks.   I made a

I had to use my old camera because the new 7D’s shutter stuck and now I have to send into Canon for repair.  Needless to say I am very disappointed – I hope the Service department can make me feel better with a quick repair.  The new lens on the old 350D camera really helps and the photos are very clear – I’ll let you know what happens as I’ll probably rant and rave if the new one doesn’t get fixed soon – I paid a lot of money and don’t expect a “Professional” camera to go tits up after 300 photos – they advertise a 150,000 shutter life – We’ll see.

Well, I now have the studio and lighting working so I am starting to take more shoots.  I had some of the boys and girls from Adam’s Apple Club over and got some good images.  So I just put all the images I have together and made this slideshow.  Also gave me a chance to try out some new Photoshop techniques.  Also trying out a new Slideshow Template —   Hope you enjoy.

Well I finally got to 70 – Sept 16th and had a great birthday party with many friends in Chiang Mai – we planned this for several months and it went off without a hitch. (Thanks to Todd & Pia and Guy). 

Adam’s Apple Club was the venue and what a show – First – for eats – Lamb chops, BBQ chicken, Salmon wrapped Asparagus, and a dipping vegetable plate. and if that didn’t get you smiling:

THEN THE SHOW – we started with several of my favorite songs by the International singer and local artist  Ong-Ard Kanchaisak  (what a voice) and then we were treated to several go-go boy acts – below are some shots of the ones I can post here – nude shots were not taken and that means MOST of the show I cannot show you photos of, but use your imagination and I am sure you will be right on.  They were great, erotic and very, very sexy.  And for the final -  the Adam’s Apple Girls Cabaret  – WOW what an evening – Here are some shots and a short slideshow of the evening:

I want to thank all who attended and especially Todd, Pia and Guy from Adam’s – Todd and Pia did the cooking and Guy coordinated the show – what a wonderful job – not one complaint, everyone was happy – that’s hard to do with a house full of Farangs.

Last week I took Ton to his family’s home in Mae Taeng and then he and his brother showed me the local area – nice day trip – had a great time.  

Mae Taeng area is beautiful this time of the year – these red flowered trees are everywhere .

From here we went to the Buatong Waterfall – so much minerals in the water that they have  dropped out and coated the hill with a cement like layer- amazing.

You can walk right up the falls without slipping –

Next we went to see the 7 Tribes Village – here is their brochure and the front sign – I love this shot of a Karen girl – Ton got her to play and sing a native song for us – great

From here we went to the end of the road which ended at the Ping River – many boulders in it so white water abounds – rafting and tubing is the name of the day – Ton and his brother went swimming  – I just watched and relaxed – got a good shot of a very cute ladyboy – can’t wait till the rainy season starts and the area greens up – beautiful

“We had a very colourful weekend here in Berlin!!

so, this months will bring much more street-party’s and gay-parades ‘CSD’ in the life-full city Berlin:))

see some nice pic’s, also from the Thai-community here in Berlin, with there traditional costumes, only one group among 135 other groups from different cultures. More than 600 000 looked on this 4 h parade in ‘Kreuzberg’, a district from Berlin, with many students, artists and different nationalities.

since 14 years always on a public- and Christian- holiday,

this parade of “ the carnival of cultures” goes on for 4 days until very late nights.
I enjoy it very much, this swinging relaxed atmosphare.”

 Wow – I just got these great pictures from our friend Max — He and several of his friends spent the weekend at this great place in Lampang.  On Kew Lom Lake – at the  Wang-Kaew Isle resort.   Approx. 160Km from Chiang Mai past Lampang but before you reach Phayao.

Looks like a very peaceful place to relax and enjoy the company of good friends – he says that they took a bamboo-boat from the resort for a 2 hr round-trip tour of the lake – caves, landscapes,  – then back to the resort’s natural gardens and comfortable rooms with WC/hot showers and a balcony overlooking the lake. Very reasonable – they paid about 1200 Baht ($40 US) person/night for lodging, food, drinks and tours — not bad.

P.S.  I just ran across a web-site for “big game” fishing and it shows the Kew Lom lake – Don’t know how they do for the fishing, or how big they are BUT judging from the photos of the boys in Max’s shots, there must be a lot to catch at the resort ().  New and I will have to check it out and let you know – fishing and the resort – ha ha .

Sunday and Monday were filled with picture taking at Wat Suan Dok.  52 young men from very young to their 20’s were ordained as Novice Monks.  I took a lot of shots and New used the video.  He will make a DVD of the event, both for practice and for the Temple.  He’s starting a small business of video and photos so this is a good starting project – hopefully I may be able to post it . – I’ll try

The day begins with the boys getting their head and eyebrows shaved then into the white novice robes for the ordination.  After being ordinated they then put on the traditional orange robes.  The final part of the second day is when they receive their bowels – each morning they will leave the temple to walk the local neighood to receive the offerings from the people – what they receive is what they have to eat.  It is a lesson in dependence and humility – something we in the West I think have lost with our children.  Most will be here for at least the following month.

 See the SlideShow – this Gay owned and operated bar just opened in Chiang Mai opposite the HillSide4 Condos.  Great crowd, music and food sparked the event.  I was having camera problems and so didn’t get a lot of pictures – but I did get some of the boys that were there.

You’ll recognize New and Narin and here is also a shot of the bartenders –  We had a great time and saw a lot of old friends we hadn’t see in a long time – maybe now there will be a place where we can meet.

There are rumors that the area will cater to a gay’er stock of businesses – who knows, but there is certainly enough room for several other venues – hopefully gay too.
