Here’ a new format, combined line drawing, painting and photo – This is Nai, check out a earlier post of a trip we took to Sattahip  – I really like this effect, interesting – what do you think?  I am going to refine this technique and make the brush strokes more pronounced and paint smear colors match shades in the photo more closely. I also need to increase the paper texture in the face area. But I think it’s a good start  - your comments ????

Here is a quick example of the power of Photoshop CS5 healing brush to remove the fencing and then using a great filter - Vertus Fluid Mask to isolate the monkey for a collage.IMG_1668  This is one of my shots from my Vietnam trip.        First remove the fence using the spot healing brush – so easy to do.

IMG_1668-EditThen extract the monkey – CS5’s refine edge just couldn’t do it, but Vertus was so easy – I first made a selection around the monkey to limit the colors  and then used the filter to refine the edges – amazing.  And here’s the result :

This is the first time I used Vertus and really find it exciting – It will allow me to do much better extraction – particularly hair – I am not sure if you can see it in this small post

Pond looks great with his green hair and today Kay stopped by to show off his new red hairdo – FASHION – it’s the craze here.

But you gott’a admit these guy look stunning.  If you were looking for some reason to visit Pattaya – here are 2 suggestions  Red or Green – drop by Sunee and see the live version, you won’t be disappointed.

Here’s the latest shot of Pond – Much better than the first ones – I am getting better – slowly but steady – it’s hard to teach a old dog new tricks and I jump too fast to post images before I really put a lot of effort into editing them.  These guys are soooooo cute, I love spending time with them and hope you enjoy these images too.

Here’s a photo I took of the Hong Kong Pier when I visited there in 2005 on my first trip to Asia.  Pond spotted it and asked if I could put his photo on the billboard – he really liked the scene too – soooooo here is my first attempt.  What do you think?

When you come to Pattaya, make sure you visit Sunee Plaza and especially “The Crazy Pub”.  Here’s Pond, one of the staff.

Bon-Sm

You can’t miss him – green hair and all – what a great young man.

Stop by and say hello – I’m sure you will get a warm welcome.

Pond stopped by this afternoon for a little photo shoot – agreed I could post this one and promised to come back later  - after Songkran – to take a little more time and get some super poses and exciting shots.

Well off to the beach to finish my day – water throwing is in full swing – but it should be minimal between here and Jomtien Complex, where I will meet up with Don, Degs and the other guys to spend a little time seeing what the boys are up to and how they intend to spend Songkran – expect a little water, so wallet and phone go into plastic bags for protection.

Brokeh1

Just screwing around with PS and saw a couple of designs I liked and converted some old photos – You know the models from past posts.

I really like the Brokeh effect and the graffiti wall shot  - I thought they look great – so I made the substitutes - I’m always looking for new scenes  or designs that I can place the boys in – these are a couple of new ideas I came across on the web.Wall-Wit

Here’s a new model “Nut” and what he wanted for an image.Nut-special

We will have another session soon and should have some more shots to post – at least if he agrees, that is.  This one he is going to send home – maybe he will approve a couple just for the blog, that would be nice.  He picked the background – not friends but he said he wished they were.  Smile

Last week we took a quick trip to the Silverlake and Sattahip areas south of Pattaya and on the way back stopped at a small fishing village at the end of Pattaya Beach.  Not sure of the name but here is a image of one of the fishing boats.  Or I should say ‘my version’.

_MG_0640-Edit-3 _MG_0662-EditIt’s a composite line drawing and photo – I am going to do another version in Coral Painter and make the painting strokes more apparent.  I also have a lot more images to process and will try to make a slideshow of them to post later too.

And here is a image I created for “Boy” so he can send it home for his family.

I have also found a condo to rent ( at least I hope so – final papers will be drawn up next week and I should be moved in before the end of the month).  It’s a 1 bedroom with kitchen – within walking distance from the beach and should be very quiet.

Really looking forward to getting settled in and

Here are a couple of images of Kay – he works in a bar near Walking Street Area of Pattaya.  Lovely boy and great model – I’ll post some more shots as I complete them for him and of course he approves.

Here are several versions of my masseur’s images.  Isn’t he sexy!

On the last one I used a template from  “PhotoFunia”  - they have some great scenes that you can submit your photos to and have them processed – only problem is that they don’t like nude, xxx or what they term offensive shots ( ???)  – so I have used this one in Photoshop to be able to add what I like.

Also you can check other same sites such as  PicJoke.net ,   Dumpr , FunPhotoBox , LoonaPix, Photo505 and  MagMyPic

Just getting used to Pattaya, little hotter than Chiang Mai, but has so much more to offer.  My daily trips to the beach has opened many new friendships and several evenings I have taken in local shows.  What’s nice is that they are within walking distance – so boredom is becoming a thing of the past .

8967--2Here’s a photo of a new friend I met.  Photography is still my major activity – Models are also easier to get here – so I intend to post more images in the future ( and paintings, I’m working on a few now)

This afternoon a friend will stop by to work together on Photoshop and developing better photo skills – he’s a professional journalistic photographer and I really look forward to learning new techniques.

Later this evening, Dana, will arrive from the US and I will meet him in Boys Town.  This will be the first time I’ve gone there and plan to bring my camera to get some shots.

Just started to try my hand at painting again – What a great program Corel Painter 12 – The Leading Digital Art Software.

PAINTER 12

Try it out  - I am sure you will find it is well worth the money – It will open new artistic doors you had only imagined.  Try it first but I am sure you will buy it as I did.

So I tried my hand at a Chalk painting (Drawing) of a photo taken of a old friend of mine in San Francisco. By old I mean several years ago when I lived there – Roughly done and with a single square chalk brush it has started me back to checking out some of my older photos to see which would be a good candidate to turn into a painting.

I am just starting to experiment with its impressive array of brushes, paper textures, paints, oils, watercolors and more and will start producing better projects in the future to show.   Although it’s very crude I hope you enjoy.
