Just had my first “Couchsurfer’ stay with me. He was from Taiwan and spoke excellent English so we had some great conservations. while he was here we visited the Hmong Hilltribe Village, above Doi Suthep on Doi Pui – below is the picture of him in traditional Hmong clothing. Excuse the hat, looked more colorful than a normal male black hat – and most will not know the difference, lol. You can check with earlier posts to see the full images of the village.
Then we went to see the Buddhist Hell Temple, Wat Si Don Chai Pa Tung Ngam – Wat Mae Kaet Noi Buddhist Hell in Mae Jo area. Check out the earlier post on the temples I posted not too long ago for more pictures.
Great time, I am really glad I joined this group and had the experience of meeting new people (guys of course). I am also a member of the “Queer Couchsurfing†group. I’ll post more on this subject later.

Simon and I went to explore the Mae Jo local temple – Buddhist Hell – at Wat Mae Kaet Noi – also called – Wat Si Don Chia Pa Tung Ngam.
It’s like a Disneyland area – turnstile entrance (10 Baht ea.) , divided in 2 section areas – Heaven and Hell. Amazing – The first thing that stands out is the deplorable attitude about sex – same as in the Christian and Islamic religions. Statues with emphasized penises, vaginas, disfigured and/or being mutated – Here are some glaring examples – the rest are in the Slideshow.
Make sure to visit the display – very eye opening and shows the blend of Buddhism, Hindu, Chinese Gods, and Animism. Sex always seems to be the point of attack around the world – actually there are only 3 functions in life, Eating, Sleeping and Sex. And the first two are only done so one can do the last – SEX Think about it and make sure to visit the Temple.

Avoiding Songkran here in Chiang Mai, Simon and I headed for 2 Days in Pai and 2 days in Mae Hong Song. We tried to visit “Unseen†Thailand this trip and so when arriving in Pai – visited a female monk meditation area- Mae She Tha Pathana Chit Chaleon Phra Kait. Then we went to the Memorial Bridge on the entrance to Pai with it’s unique statues. We were very lucky to visit Wat Sri Don Chai in time to view their Shan – Poi Sang long Festival – great and colorful. And while in Pai stayed at the Phaewdao Resort – very very nice. Excitement did happen as a neighbor 2 doors down from Simon’s room was robbed and the police were there investigating in the morning. One great site, South of Pai, was this (not on the map) hot water geyser, on the side of the road. Leaving Pai and on to Mae Hong Song and booked into the Ngamta Hotel, next to the lake. From this base we explored the surrounding countryside looking for “Unseen†sites. Gravel collection site from the river by Shan people, a river-floating restaurant, burning along the side of the road, and went to visit a 106 year old Monk – but he seem to be at the Poi Sang long festival in the area, so we missed him. We did visit several more Temples and a special Children’s home for Shan refugees called Dhammagiri Foundation. Great, relaxing trip – little traffic, lots of water throwing but only in designated areas and along the roads by little children – So I have made this Slideshow of the best images – Enjoy.

I am very sad to have heard that a long time friend had been involved in a motor accident and passed away. Wit – [ Lengwan Hsenkham Tiger King of Shan State].
He will be really missed – Services will be held Today- 3/21 to cremation on 3/23 at Wat Pan Tan, Chiang Mai. I will attend the final services and will post images – Wit’s mother has arrived from Myanmar and I met her today – very sad moment. Prayers will be Friday 23rd start 11AM – cremation procession at 1pm.

Some great shots here, then on to Thaton and Doi Angkhang. On the way stopped to watch some women loading potatoes in a truck and then found a place to stay overnight at Mae Ai – The next morning, headed to the mountain park, we stopped by a noodle stand Xishuangbanna operated by Chin and his brother, after a quick Chinese breakfast we headed to the Royal Project at Doi Angkhang – wonderful flowers and a place to visit – here they have a marvelous camping ground setup with a view of the surrounding area. It was the first chance that Simon and I had to take a photo exploring trip together and what a success – already planning on going back to spend more time at specific spots to capture the true beauty and splendor of the northern Chiang Rai-Fang area. Next time I’ll produce some slideshows of the photos taken

With all this bullshit about the Russians meddling in our elections – this has been entirely forgotten. The teardrop Monument presented to the US by the Russians after the 9/11 destruction.
Here you can read the full story at the official web page
Our Gov’t has completely ignored it or just covered it up – I haven’t heard one comment or saw one photo of it on any new cast – yet all this bullshit about collusion. When will we take politics out of being a profession and return it to being service to the people. Thanks Kevin for pointing this out.

It’s 32% C today in Chiang Mai –that’s 87 F probably reach 95 by mid afternoon – NOVEMBER – supposedly our cool season. At least it is not “Humid†like Pattaya was, I couldn’t take that again.
Just walked up to Maya Shopping Center for lunch and sweat all the way. What in HELL is going on – “Hell†is an appropriate word to use. Along the way I took these images of the common usage of bamboo for scaffolding. I think I read somewhere that bamboo is better than steel because of its flexibility and light weigh but just as strong – but I am sure I will never be climbing up there. Anyway just a quick post.

Today we took a ride to Doi Inthanon, highest mountain in Thailand.
Up there are temples dedicated to the Queen and late King. After that we stopped at a couple of waterfalls on the way back to Chiang Mai. So here is some of the photos taken:

Wow, I didn’t realize how long it’s been since I visited venues in the area and posted about them – lost in my painting. Today I went with a couple of friends to Papa’s Garden in Doi SaKet for lunch. Great food and surroundings. A little way off the beaten path but well worth it. They grow, hydroponically, their own salads and served fresh. Walked around the facilities and this would be a great place to stay for a family. Something for the kids and relaxing for the parents.

In the beginning there was darkness and God said “Let there be lightâ€
This is my model of this world – An illusion, born from an insane thought that something other than God can be of value. That thought, made real by incomplete judgment and a desire to be special, only in illusion and perception born. I still have a lot of work to do on it – better graphics and detail – but it’s a start ——-
You can read the whole Theology “The Gospel According to Frank†as posted here:
ACIM Chapter 20, Section 6 The Temple of the Holy Spirit – The meaning of the Son of God lies solely in his relationship with his Creator. If it were elsewhere it would rest on contingency, but there is nothing else. And this is wholly loving and forever. Yet has the Son of God invented an unholy relationship between him and his Father. His real relationship is one of perfect union and unbroken continuity. The one he made is partial, self-centered, broken into fragments and full of fear. The one created by his Father is wholly Self-encompassing and Self-extending. The one he made is wholly self-destructive and self-limiting.
Many try to remove Jesus from the “Course†saying it doesn’t really matter who or what you call GOD. But to accept the Course is to accept it all and I offer the following to show the relevance of Jesus and his words. Religion is another matter.
