Tonight Nu and I will attend and photograph/video the event.  Our friends Mark and Arrd, lead singers, asked if we could make a DVD of the show for them.

Should be a lot of fun and we get free food etc. – of course and it’s for a great cause too.

I’ll make sure to post some shots of the event and maybe add a video of the entertainment too.

Well  – Nu’s Uncle and Aunt are almost here for lunch – we are making spaghetti, or I should say they are making spaghetti with beef – Elio, Nu’s Uncle will be doing the cooking – actual Italian style – can't wait.

Ciao

IMG_2074Collage-EditFriday night we went to see “A History of Piano Music” by Jonas Dept and Laurent Chiarelly at the AUA Auditorium in Chiang Mai.

Laurent narrated the history and Jonas performed selections from 1732 to 1937.

Here is the program:

What a great evening of music – afterwards we went with Jonas & Laurent and their extended family to “The Writers Club and Wine Bar” up the street for late conservations and drinks.

Jonas and Laurent are planning on many more future presentations at different locations around Chiang Mai and we will definitely go and gather more pictures for the blog.  Great entertainment – make sure to catch these shows when you visit Chiang Mai.  I’ll try to post their calendar of up-comming events.

Ciao

Saturday night, 28th, we had the pleasure of going to “The Gate Theater Group’s” presentation of “The Gin Game” at the Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Center – Kad Studio Theater.  We were invited by the Matchett’s to video tape the show and make a DVD for them.

“The Gate Theater Group is a not-for-profit volunteer network established for the purpose of bringing the performing arts to Chiang Mai.  Among their goals are the  development and recruitment of local talent, the encouragement of young people’s interest in theater arts, and above all the delivery of an enjoyable theatrical experience to our audiences”

Here is the program sheet:

We missed the previous presentation “The Dodo Bird” because we were out of town, glad we made this one – very, very well done.  Superb sets, acting and of course the play itself.  What a neat little theater and I didn’t even know it was there.  Not sure what a Dodo Bird is?

We took about 1.5 hours of tape and produced a DVD for them – We also took many photos – or I should say Nu took a bunch – I did the video this time.   Tried out several new procedures in making the cover and DVD itself and really pleased with the outcome, here’s what the DVD looked like:

Bronze Boy     [Andre 1999]

BronzeBoy3

I just got some pictures of David’s,  a friend of ours, Bronze Boy statue by Andre 1999.   It really caught my eye as it was setting in his garden.  The statue was presented to him as a gift by the artist and he had it shipped from the UK to Chiang Mai several years ago.  The cost of shipping it was very expensive because the statue is a bronze casting and really heavy.

BronzeBoy4BronzeBoy1

I talked to David about allowing  a mold to be made and casting resin copies of the work and putting them on our web site for sale.  The statue is about 3 foot. long and by casting it in resin it should be fairly light, at least enough to keep the shipping charges in line.

Thought I’d post images of it here and see if people are interested in getting one.  Don’t know the cost yet but for a mantle or center piece in the garden it is unique and exclusive.  Once I find a artist or caster to make the above copy, they could also create modifyed poses. Think of the possibilities.

What do you think? – worth checking into.?

Sawadee Khrap Hi – just want to make another plug for Nattapoun’s Soap flower carvings. What a great seat placement decoration for your next party, wedding, business or special event. We have several in our apartment and they really invite the comments from our guests. They love them. We are also looking for a sales rep to handle large sales in the local areas – great rep discount – so you can build a thriving business – Local flower, wedding, Hallmark centers, craft, and hobby shops are a great outlet – you set up the purchase and use the web to complete – Set up an account and all sales to it will give you a commission. eMail us for particulars. Well it’s Sunday night here – Tasanai is not back yet from Nan – so I’ll have some pictures to post probably tomorrow. Ciao

Just got back yesterday from the “Tao Garden Wellness Retreat” in Doi Saket.  Nei, the Tao expert in “Karsai Nei Tsang” massage (genital area), gave me a marvelous relaxing and therapeutic massage.  We took some great pictures of the retreat but Tasanai has them in his camera and he’s still in Nan – when he gets back I will process them and post again.

As far as the recruiting is going  – Tasanai is searching for models for our new web page celebrating the beauty of the Asian Male Body.  We are setting up the site to show and sell artistic, erotic photos of Thai men (boys as they call them here) prints, posters and image CD’s.  Look for our new site called  gThaiStudio .  As soon as we collect about 7 – 8 models and have a gallery of images we will update the site and go on line.

I’m still looking to get the Postcards function set up for our gallery – but so far no such luck – seems like there is always something that will not work – damn – it’s frustrating.  The only way to find software that will really fit your needs is to write it yourself – but now that’s out of the question – so I just keep testing and sooner or later will find the right one.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ——  HAPPY NEW YEAR

And we have the new version of the Store and Gallery online now.  Still plan on making a lot of changes but we think the basic format is there – just tweaking the site now is needed.  Many images will now be improved, and we still need some pricing for “Bird’s” Asian Tours ( trekking & Chiang Rai) for starters.

Well what do you think of the site and store now – Please clique for me – need your opinions, comments and suggestions.

What do you feel when you see the site?  Is is appealing?

Does it convey any feelings to buy?       We were told the old version looked more like a museum than a store.

Has that changed?      Are there some Thailand products you would like to have presented?

Thanks for your help – we really need it.

Ciao

Just got the store and blog integrated – Please check it out and be sure and leave some comments.

The images in the store right now are set at low resolution – we will start to bring them higher while at the same time reducing the size of the code to reduce loading times. Lot of work still ahead.

Some of the images – Pong’s artwork for example – were shot in bad lighting and will have to be replaced – sorry Pong.  Her work is so beautiful we feel bad that the images turned out so poorly, We’ll get those changed next week.  We have only included enough images to fill the pages  – now we will develop a larger Gallery.  Really looking for your input to decide which images or scenes you would like to see.

Just click on the “ARTIST – GALLERY – STORE” in the upper Menu and have a look.

We are also looking for State-Side sales Reps  (U.S.)  for the products shown – interested ????

Drop us a email.

Thanks

Tasanai

We must have been very tired after Tasanai’s Birthday and next day celebration –  It was a great party and yesterday we took the family to the Airport Shopping Center – Got some pictures but we’ll post them later  – the quake is news now.   last night about 12 PM we had a earthquake (5.1) about 30 miles away and we didn’t feel it.  All over the news this morning they were talking about it  – showing buildings, even ours, checking for damage and we slept through it. –  Some of the older ones showed some cracks but our building – nothing

The quake was centered in Mae Rim, about 30 miles away where the tourtist usually go to see the elephant camp and where the Orchid farms are.  Apparently some real damage there. I had some pictures of our trip to here when Tin was visiting from San francisco.  They didn’t know this fault existed and are now giving it a name. — We still can’t understand how we slept through it – they said that there was also over 20 after shocks.

Anyway, got the Store loaded into the servers today and in testing phase before we begin to change the blog to link it.  Within the next week we will create the menu links to set it in the blog – Sent out email for some to test it now and will use their comments to get out the bugs.

and for everyone else   MERRY CHRISTMAS –  if we don’t have it fully functional by

Sawasdee Khrap Well tomorrow is the King’s Birthday and a National Holiday here – actually it’s called Father’s Day and we will go to Lampang to celebrate with Tasanai’s family. We’re taking a computer system over to give to the family and the kids can use it for school work. Tasanai’s brother, Thanon Chai’s birthday is Jan 2 so this will serve as Father’s Day, Christmas, and Thanon Chai’s present. Hope it will help him with school – he’s studying PhotoShop right now and being able to practice at home should really give him some extra help. They don’t have a lot of computers at school – so the kids can use it to study at home – I hope to see them having good grades. Just adding the finishing touches to the Store and Gallery, didn’t think it would take this much typing – have to add a small description to every image in the Gallerys and especially for the artist products being shown. I have just started testing it on PayPal to make sure that the credit card part is working OK and then I will set up the Form-Mail for contact purposes. I’m still planning on the end of the month as the latest – sorry I won’t be able to get it done before the Christmas buying rush – bummer – but for next year we should have a tried and tested system and several new great artist and their ...

I have settled on using ZenCart as the shopping cart software for the store – but I am waiting for my Hosting Service to make the newest version a standard and available for one-click installment and upgrades. That they say will happen within a week so I will wait and have them install the newest version. Doing that will make sure that I am setup for upgrades when they have been checked out by the Hosting Service. Once I get the latest software installed I will bring it on line without a full face change to make sure it is working correctly – I will have all our products listed and available for purchase through PayPal – that will be the only payment gateway for a while – later I will bring on line the other cards – Visa, MasteCharge, etc. Without any other problems I should have the whole thing up and running for the Christmas season. Fingers crossed. Frank
