Hmong–Bhubing Palace-Doi Suthep

Sawadee Khrap

I got a surprise call from a old friend from Pattaya, Edty, that he was in town and Thursday we took a trip to Doi Suthep.  First a stop at the Hmong village at the top of Doi Pui, then on to Bhubing Rajanives Palace – Royal residence in Chiang Mai20151224_141225 – spent a hour there seeing the sights and then on to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep . From here you get a spectacular view of Chiang Mai City.  20151224_152332 On the right side is the International Airport and 20151224_150616the “Old City” about in the center of the shot.  We got a lot of shots and so 20151224_140206I put them in a Slideshow Gallery.  This shot shows me pretty exhausted – lot of walking, good exercise but never the less very tiring.  When you come to Chiang Mai be sure and visit these sites – we took  a  “songtaew”, the Red truck Taxi, and a Golf cart tour at the Palace – total transportation cost about  1000 baht or  $28 for 5 hour tour.   Can’t beat the price and convenience.  Then there’s always renting a motorcycle – but not for me.

Anna’s Birthday Party

Sawadee Khrap

anna birthday partyI went to Ann Gracey’s Birthday Party last night – but I was having terrible ear infection so could only stay to say hello and  wish them all the best.

Check out City Life’s picture gallery

Anna, Asue and Lilly are in town for a few days before going on to  Myanmar.  It’s been 5 years since I saw them and Lilly is now a vibrant young lady – and singer, I might add – Just wish I could have lasted longer.   I understand the music at Boy Blues Bar was excellent and I didn’t get to hear Anna sing.  Also looks like I left before Steve the City Life photographer got there – but I did get to see most everyone before I went home.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA

Sawadee Khrap

Finally got some of the images done from our trip to so called Chiang Mai’s Grand Canyon.   It’s a old gravel and dirt pit which has filled with water Grand Canyon Mapand the owners have open it to tourist.   Quite a distance from the Old City – it’s in the lower left corner of the map.  A little further down the road is Phu Finn – outdoor restaurant – very good food and a spectacular view.  Also check out this earlier post  “After the Love”

Med update

Sawadee Khrap

It’s been a while since I updated my results of my drug routine.   Several new  achievements have been noticed so far but not proven as long time successes.

1.   I added 500 mg cap (I filled them) of ground Black Peppercorns to my morning dose of Turmeric. Many articles I have read expounded on the synergistic effect of the pepper increasing the absorption of the Turmeric by almost 2000% – WOW did it make a difference, I can see the results within the first 2 days, increasing the blood circulation in my legs and has eliminated the pain and fatigue in walking – using the Elliptical now for 25 min at almost 4 m/h, and I’ve only been taking it for 2 weeks.

2.  For the last month, I had stopped taking the Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey mixture and started noticing the problem in my ears returning – ringing (tinnitus) and plugging up during the night, and  some dandruff returning, —  so for the last 2 days started it again twice a day – problem gone or greatly  reduced – I will make it a normal routine – twice a day.

So for a recap of the routine now:  every morning

1 tbsp. Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar + 1 tbsp. Honey in 8 oz. water – taken on a empty stomach before my Oatmeal breakfast and meds below.

  1. 1000 mg  High DHA Fish Oil – Blackmore’s Omega Memo      (Omega-3)
  2. 1000 mg Mega Fish Oil – standard   (lower in cost)
  3. 1500 mg GMP Kamin-Chun  (Curcuma Longa Linn- Turmeric) anti-inflammatory
  4. 500 mg  Ground Black Peppercorn      (increases absorption of Turmeric)
  5. 5mg Folic Acid           (for kidneys)
  6. 7mg Cialis                    (blood pressure and ED)
  7. 225mg Ibersartan     (Blood Pressure meds – relaxes artery walls)
  8. 2 squares Fine Extra Dark Chocolate   73%+ Coco   (Flavanols lower BP )

Elliptical machine exercise – 25 min  approx. 1.5 Mile walk  3.5 to 5 M/hr.  – every morning about 9AM

Blood pressure has been stable at 130-140/60 ,  energy increased – feeling normal again.  Exercise is a enjoyable not painful any more – ED seems like a thing of the past – In addition,  I have discovered, not proven yet, that using the “Biorhythms”  Physical curve I can predict my sexual strength – so to say – seems there is a monthly cycle – research is starting to talk about this for men.

After lunch I take an additional:   1000 mg Mega Fish Oil .    And later in the afternoon before dinner a second dose of the Apple Cider Vinegar mixture.   And it tastes great too – very relaxing.

Diet has been limited to fresh vegetables, fruit, fish with little meat,  only chicken and pork, small amount  of lamb but no beef – no bread or white rice and very limited pastas and pastry.   Sugar, MSG, salt avoided.

There you have it  – feeling great, blood pressure down, minimum drugs, nature medicines, and no operation –   God Bless it will stay this way.

Drum and Dancing Band

Sawadee Khrap

IMG_3122I was having tea at Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Center this Sunday afternoon and on the main floor below me they were having a car show.  They had a 6 guy drum and dancing band, wearing terrific tail-coat outfits – all very handsome young men.  By the time I got down there they had finished their act so I didn’t get any photos.   But they said that they would preform again later in the evening – so I went home and got the 7D.

What I thought would be 4 PM show turned out to be a 6:30 show but I did get some shots – They had taken off the great outfits and were just in varsity jackets – but the drumming and dancing was excellent – In the above photo you can see someone taking a video – they were preforming in such a cramped space I had trouble getting any shots that had all 6 of them in view at the same time.  Wish they would have been on a stage where they could have shown all their fancy foot working stuff – but never the less they were super.

I did meet one of the guys, Jame, and I gave him my card so I hope they check out the blog and send me an email  – I didn’t get the name of the band but I would love to be invited to shoot their next appearance.  Lets hope they contact me and I’ll get some great shots if I can.

VERNON’S FUNERAL

Sawadee Khrap

Vernon works hard at the Phone Company but spends two nights each week bowling, and plays golf every Saturday.  His wife thinks he’s pushing himself too hard, so for his birthday she takes him to a local strip club.

The doorman at the club greets them and says, “Hey, Vern! How ya doing?”  His wife is puzzled and asks if he’s been to this club before.   “Oh no,” says Vern.”He’s in my bowling league.”

When they are seated, a waitress asks Vern if he’d like his usual and brings over a Budweiser.  His wife is becoming increasingly uncomfortable and says, “How did she know that you drink Budweiser?”  “I recognize her, she’s the waitress from the golf club. I always have a Bud at the end of the 1st nine, honey.”

A stripper then comes over to their table, throws her arms around Vern, starts to rub herself all over him and says…  “Hi Vern. Want your usual table dance, big boy?”

Vern’s wife, now furious,  grabs her purse and storms out of the club.  Vern follows and spots her getting into a cab. Before she can slam the door, he jumps in beside her.  Vern tries desperately to explain how the stripper must have mistaken him for someone else, but his wife is having none of it.

She is screaming at him at the top of her lungs, calling him every 4 letter word in the book..  The cabby turns around and says, ‘Geez Vern, you picked up a real bitch this time.’

VERN’S FUNERAL WILL BE FRIDAY
