My new Urologist and Zebras

Sawadee Khrap

As men age, we start seeing more of the medical world, which nowadays seems to include an increasing  number of young physicians and therapists. And in my case, a new urologist.

My family doctor recently referred me to a just-out-of-medical-school 24 year old urologist. I saw him yesterday, and he’s absolutely drop-dead gorgeous as well as unbelievably sexy.
He told me that I must stop masturbating.
I asked him why.
He said, “Because I’m trying to examine  you…”

Thanks to Paul’s Sundays Funnies –   slightly modified of course.

A Zebra Dies and Goes to Heaven

A Zebra dies and arrives at the Pearly Gates.  As he enters, he asks St. Peter, “I have a question that’s  haunted me all of my days on earth.  Am I white with black stripes, or am I black with white  stripes?”
St. Peter said, “That’s a question only God can answer.”  So the zebra went off in search of God.  When he found Him, the zebra asked, “God, please – I must know, am I white with black stripes,  or am I black with white stripes?”  God simply replied, “You are what you are.”
The zebra returned to see St. Peter once more, who asked him.  “Well, did God straighten out your query for you?”   The zebra looked puzzled.  No sir, God simply said “You are what you are.”  St. Peter smiled and said to the zebra, “Well then, there you are, You are white with black stripes.”
The zebra asked St. Peter, “How do you know that for certain?”   Because, said St. Peter, “If you were black with white stripes, God would have said, “You is what you is.”

Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar–Who’d guessed

Sawadee Khrap

applecidervinegardrink (2)_1How to explain this – over 6 years ago I started having problems with acid reflex – at that time the doctors had me take the purple pill – Nexium – at first it was ok and worked,  but after some time that shit really raised hell with my system – had to quit – so I started eating antiacid pills and have been ever since to control the heartburn.

About 4 years ago, around the same time as the BP problems appeared I  started getting “tinnitus” and my ears would create excessive ear wax and get plugged up – every year getting worse – itchy and felt like something was growing in the ear canal – during sleeping, and I sleep on my side, my right ear would plug completely – I could swear that something like a fungus was growing and causing the problem – but the ENT doctor said there was nothing there and just keep cleaning them – all the time the tinnitus just kept getting worse.  no cure I was told- I would learn to live with it.

I’ve been on a pretty good veg-centered diet, but heavy in fruit,  for some time since moving back to Chiang Mai so I started to reward myself with cake and tea each afternoon – I really liked the “Black Forest Chocolate” cake  and hot Jasmine green tea from Black Canyon Restaurant at Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Center – so that became my afternoon treat —– !!!!   WOW was I wrong – tooooooooooo much sugar, sugar feeds the fungi and my fungi responded big time  – BP pressure shot up, tinnitus increased, ears wax plugged up, ED (erectile dysfunction) increased, and excessive dandruff started to appear.  So I needed to cut out all the sweets, reduce the fruits I’ve been eating and go back to my veg-heavy diet.

Well about this time I also ran across an article about the health effects and benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar and it’s great ability to control blood sugar levels and anti-fungal properties – “re-establish a health inner ecosystem” –  So I thought that maybe I had a systemic fungal infection by something like candida – and that was causing my tinnitus, heartburn, dandruff and ear blockage problems.

Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar to the rescue –   for a week now I have been taking at least 1 drink in the morning of  2 tbsp of ACV, 2 tbsp honey, with 6 oz water –  they recommend this mixture 3 times a day – before each meal – but to be safe I just took one shot in the morning to see what it was going to do – NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING – BP reduced, ears not plugging up, heartburn reduced, dandruff and tinnitus almost gone – overall feeling of relief.   So I am now going to start a 2 shot a day regime to see if that will be sufficient and will report the progress.

Try it yourself – I’m sure you’ll be amazed in a very short time.

Trip to Chiang Muan to visit Narin

Sawadee Khrap

Last weekend I took a 2 day trip to visit Narin in Chiang Muan – almost to Nan in the upper North above Lampang.  Beautiful country and sites.  Narin had made accommodations for me at the “Ma See Ma’l”  – extremely quiet, clean and nice.  500 Baht night.  reasonable too.IMG_2138IMG_2137

First thing we did was to go see the local waterfall at the Doi Phu Nang National Park

IMG_2197-EditIMG_2143That is Narin on the right and several of his friends who went with us.    The above panoramic was created using 30 full size shots to capture the whole scene – making this almost a 2Gb file – almost a  6ft x 3ft mural when printed at 300 dpi -look closely and you can see Narin and friends in the center on the far left side of the image.

After the waterfall and on the way back we stopped at a temple on a hill with a commanding view of the Chiang Maun valley – which I am told the locals are fighting to stop the Gov’t’s IMG_2256plans to dam the area and turn this into a water reservoir  running all the people out  – present population is about 18,000.  The Monk here has been working   -making statues to go around the outside of the temple grounds – he can pour one a day – so he’s half done now and thinks it will take another year to complete  –  he uses a concrete mold and pours each day –

Then to Chiang Muan’s  Grand Canyon for outside dinner in the evening – They bought a lot of food and set up at the table in the park – this huge cliff face is really high  – look closely you can see the monks on the top right side – close up shows them better – Several new friends joined us and we had a cozy dinner and drinks –  amazing – this is the first time I saw stars in the night sky – milky way – dark enough here to get a great view.  then off to bed.IMG_2334

That’s Narin in the center right – If you would like to join Narin for a weekend visit to Chiang Muan you can reach him at 098-782-5939 – you can contact him as Narinrat Khamlue  In Facebook for more info’.

The next morning we got up and the boys started to prepare for a Ladyboy dance they would preform for a small village festival, close by – Narin is the leader of the troupe.   I stayed with 4 of IMG_2452them as they prepared – Narin and another 3 were at a different beauty shop getting dressed so my photos are limited – but before the show could go on it was cancelled –

I had to leave to get back to Chiang Mai and wanted to make sure I did not have to drive in the evening – so I took my leave.    Maybe I’ll be able to catch all the excitement on the next visit.   It’s a nice relaxing 3.5 hr drive from Chiang Mai to Chiang Muan.

Check it out when you visit Chiang Mai.

Scare and a joke

Sawadee Khrap

Yesterday, after installing a new video driver, my computer acted like a hard drive had stopped and it would not boot up – had to restore a restore point, take it apart and reload all drives and everything seems OK now –  Thank God it happened this way as I did not have a image backup and would have been in shit creek if it was more serious.  I made 2 recovery bootable DVD disks for future problems and installed the latest and newest  Beta AMD video driver – running fine – next problem.  Actually may be running a little faster!

Thanks to Paul’s Sunday Funnies I found this one :

Researchers for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority (MTA) found over 200 dead crows near greater Boston recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. A Bird Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone’s relief, confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be vehicular impacts.
However, during the detailed analysis it was noted that varying colors of paints appeared on the bird’s beaks and claws. By analyzing these paint residues it was determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, while only 2% were killed by an impact with a car.

MTA then hired an Ornithological Behaviorist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of truck kills versus car kills. He very quickly concluded the cause: When crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger. They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout “Cah”, not a single one could shout “Truck.”

Doi Suthep–next week Doi Ang Kang

Sawadee Khrap

Made a trip to Doi Suthep with a friend, “JJ” last week end and here are some shots:IMG_1948IMG_1946IMG_1962-EditT

These are tiles for the repair of the temple roof and JJ’s family names will be embedded in it gaining merit for them.

This is just a quick snap using the Galaxy A5 and then Photoshop – quality not up there but what can you expect from a mobile phone camera.

I’ll have more photos from Doi Ang Kang next week  – it’s a two day trip so should have lots of images – I’m renting a Honda City – my Mira is too small and like me getting old so I will not make it go the distance –

Ciao.
